Cal. Rep. Diane Watson praises communism. WTF?

The left decries the labels of socialist, communist and fascist as fear mongering, racism and the like; but when a United States Representative holds a repressive communist dictator up on a pedestal then what are the people to think? When the role models and idols of a party stand as the antithesis of freedom what conclusions are we to draw?

California Congresswoman Diane Watson made the following statements:

WATSON: You might have heard their philosophical leader. I think his name is Rush Limbaugh. And he said early on, “I hope that he fails.” Do you know what that means? If the president, your commander-in-chief, fails, America fails.

I disagree; when his success will result in the destruction of everything we as Americans hold dear then we are left with no choice but to begrudgingly root for his failure. He is not infallible and his ideals are clearly contrary to the constitutional founding of this country. For America to succeed President Obama’s agenda must fail.

Now, when a senator says that this will be his Waterloo, and we all know what happened at Waterloo, then we have him and he fails. Do we want a failed state called the United States?

The answer is a resounding no; therefore we must block Obama’s radical agenda at every turn. We find ourselves in a moment that history will either mark as the beginning of the end for America or the time when the people stood firm and the ideals of freedom won the day.

It may seem grandiose to proclaim such a demarcation but history is replete with examples of inaction. Our founders were faced with such a choice and their brave decision to stand on principle resulted in this glorious nation.

We are also faced with a choice; quietly stand by and watch our nation fall whimpering into the malaise of socialism, or stand and fight for freedom that is the birthright of every American.

This is a call to arms of sorts, not a revolution with rifles and bombs, but a peaceful uprising of ideals and civic duty. Obama will face his waterloo not in the fields of battle but at the ballot box.

Our failure to act now will be no mere foot note in history but the defining moment of a generation; either fodder for historians or a battle cry for future generations who face an unjust government.

And remember: They are spreading fear and they are trying to see that the first president that looks likes me fails. Now just understand what’s at the bottom line. And you know we just got, 48 hours ago, we just go back, we were in Beijing, China, Hong Kong, China, we were in Taiwan, we were in Guam, we were all over the Far East. I just want you to know: People look at the United States as a country that has changed its way and has elected someone from Kenya and Kansas, I’ll put it like that. And they’re saying, “We thought you would never do that.” So we don’t want to have this young man, and he just turned 48 — we want him to succeed, because when he succeeds, we regain our status. We regain our status. It was just mentioned to me by our esteemed speaker, “Did anyone say anything about the Cuban health system?” And lemme tell ya, before you say “Oh, it’s a commu–”, you need to go down there and see what Fidel Castro put in place. And I want you to know, now, you can think whatever you want to about Fidel Castro, but he was one of the brightest leaders I have ever met. [APPLAUSE] And you know, the Cuban revolution that kicked out the wealthy, Che Guevara did that, and then, after they took over, they went out among the population to find someone who could lead this new nation, and they found…well, just leave it there (laughs), an attorney by the name of Fidel Castro…

Could it be any clearer that this is a party, an administration and a president that is steeped in the teachings of Che Guevara and the like? They show such distaste for the wealthy as if it were a plague on humanity to be successful while they reap the benefits of that success. They pit man against neighbor, rich against poor and left against right while decrying divisiveness. They are hypocrites and as such are worthy of only pity and contempt.

If Cuba were the shining jewel of utopianism then why should it be that man, women and child alike would face death at the hands of the sea to escape it? Why would they load their possessions onto anything that will float to cross ninety miles of pure hell to come to this country?

The answer is simple enough; America, not Cuba, Venezuela, Russia, China or any other country these leftists hold as ideal, is the shining jewel in the crown of civilization.

The truth is that most never realize what they have until it is lost. I pray that we recognize the great opportunity we have been given by those who founded this country. I pray we seize our freedoms with both hands giving up nothing.
